MEAGAN’S WALK – Creating a Circle of Hope

Published on 20 April 2016

Meagan’s Walk: Creating a Circle of Hope was founded by Denise Bebenek in 2001, the year she lost her cherished five-year-old daughter Meagan to a cancerous brain tumour. She created Meagan’s Walk with the mission to share hope and increase awareness about brain tumours, as well as their impact on children and their families.

This year, Meagan’s Walk will take place on May 7th, on Mother’s Day weekend. During this very special event, participants will take part in a 5 km walk culminating with thousands of people joining hands to encircle SickKids Hospital in one large hug, sending strength and love to those receiving care.

As a proud sponsor, Allen’s and its team will be on-site to cheer and to distribute delicious apple juice. There is still time to register or to donate. Visit the Meagan’s Walk website for more details.

Since 2001, Meagan’s Walk has made quite an impact, raising more than $4 million for pediatric brain tumour research. Funds raised are directed to SickKids at The Arthur and Sonia Labatt Brain Tumour Research Centre (BTRC). Meagan’s Walk also heads different initiatives throughout the year.

Thank you for your support and our team hopes to see you there!
