Cranberry Apple Crostata
1/2 pkg. (425 g) market pie crusts
1/3 cup (75ml) Allen’s cranberry cocktail
2/3 cup (150 mL) brown sugar
1/3 cup (75 mL) all-purpose flour
3 cup (750 mL) cooked apples, thinly sliced
2 cup (500 mL) fresh or frozen cranberries (chopped)
1 tbsp. (15 mL) butter or margarine
Nuts of your choice to put on top (optional)

Preheat the oven to 425 ° F (220 ° C). Place crust on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Combine brown sugar, flour, apples, Allen’s cranberry cocktail and cranberries. Place mixture in center of dough, up to 3 inches (7.5 cm) from edges. Sprinkle with butter. Fold the edges of the dough over the apples.

Bake the pie for 20 minutes. Cover the center with a 5-inch (12.5 cm) square of foil to prevent it from browning too much. Bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
