Applesauce
Apples of your choice diced : Gala, Honeycrisp, Mcintosh or Golden delicious
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Allen’s Mellow Apple Juice
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch of salt and grounded nutmeg
Peel, core and choppe about 8 apples

Combine the diced apples, brown sugar, Allen’s apple juice, water, and in a large pot.

Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, occasionally stir.

After the apples have soften reduce the heat to medium-low.

Cover with the lid and cook until the apples are very soft, about 18 to 20 minutes.

Stir in the lemon juice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Let it cool for 5 minutes or so.

Puree in the pan with an immersion blender. Once at the wanted texture transfer the applesauce to a bowl and refrigerate until cool, (approx. 1 hour).

You can store applesauce, in an airtight container, in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
You can also freeze the apple sauce in a muffin pan to have portions for lunches, once the portions are frozen, you put in an airtight container and put them back in the freezer.
